“WHAT EXACTLY IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDUSTRIAL HEMP & MARIJUANA?
One of the more confusing topics in today’s discussions about Cannabis is .....
What is Hemp? Isn’t it the same as Marijuana? Pot?
QUICK ANSWER: NO
Now here’s the confusing part. .Both Industrial Hemp and “Marijuana” share the same Botanical name Cannabis Sativa L. (as given by Carl Linnaeus http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/history/linnaeus.html back in the mid 1700’s). however these Annual Herbaceous cousins couldn’t be more difference. Same Botanical Name, looks the same, grows similarly, but delivers very different end results.
The Industrial Hemp variety provides for Fiber Production -Textiles and Building Materials (Hempcrete), Grains for Feeds and Flour, Seed and Oil Extracts for Foods, Medicine, (CBD and other Cannabidiols extractions ) and Fuels for Industry.
But...what it DOES NOT get you is “HIGH” (Non Psychoactive)
Now, Industrial Hemp’s Crazy Cousin – “Marijuana” (Cannabis Sativa L. and Indica L.) is another story.
Alias: Mary and her Sister Jane, Pot, Weed, Reefer, Grass; and numerous other names all contain various levels of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and other Terpenes which...
DOES induce that Strong Psychoactive “High” feeling.
